Tuesday 2 May 2010 -Beginners Patchwork with Wendy Saclier - Wendy’s 20+ years of experience are evident as she takes her beginners class through all the basic steps of quilt design and construction. Yes you can finish your lap quilt in this series of workshops -if you want to. Day sessions held 10am to 12.30pm, evening sessions 6pm to 8.30pm. Wendy’s workshops continue to be very popular. 8 weeks for $165

Commencing 5 or 6 March Appliqué Quilts with Sue Cody. Choose from a selection of three designs to make your own hand pieced quilt. With Sue’s assistance on fabric selection, colour and pattern you will learn a variety of techniques including paper piecing and template appliqué.
Cost $340 for 4 sessions. Very limited places available

WOOLIE STITCHERS hosted by Samantha –Next session Sunday 21 March. Samantha will again host this group this year for like minded stitchers who enjoy working with wool fabric, thread and embellishments. Casual group with no pressure and no tuition. Cost $100 Sundays 11am - 2.00pm

Sunday 10 April Needleturn Appliqué with Carol Pasfield – This introductory workshop will teach you the basics of needleturn appliqué, inside curves, outside curves, points, bias stems to name a few. Carol will also give advice on developing your own designs so you truly can make a unique appliqué quilt design. This is an ideal starting point (although not necessary) to Carol’s skill builder medallion workshop later in April. Cost $60.

Sunday 11 April Liberation from the Ditch with Helen Godden – Another international award winning tutor, Helen Godden will use this workshop to demistify machine quilting and get you out of the ditch. Helen will show you just how easy it is to make the leap from the ditch. Designed for novice quilters this is a good basic workshop to give you confidence with free machine quilting. Cost $60

Beyond Basics Medallion Quilt with Carol Pasfield - Commencing Thursday 29 April then fortnightly for 8 sessions. With Carol’s guidance learn how to make your own quilt. Assistance with fabric selection, choice of patterns, how to calculate, meterage, how to determine block size etc. These are the questions we are constantly asked and Carol will be showing you just how easy it is to calculate. Held evenings 6pm to 8.30pm. Cost $240 for 8 evening sessions.

Saturday 1 May Stars Without Stress with Beryl Hodges - Make this gorgeous quilt without tricky triangles. Very suitable for broad range of fabric genre including balis; indigos; florals, novelty and more. A perfect quilt and very experienced tutor makes this workshop ideal for those just getting started following a beginners course or more experienced quilters who just want to make a spectacular quilt. $60

Reversible Quilt with Beryl Hodges Wednesday 16 & 23 June evenings. Work on the back and front of the quilt at the same time – so when you are done you are done – great technique held over two evenings so you can get your quilt finished. $60.

Saturday 19 June Crazy Patchwork with Wendy Saclier – Wendy has won competitions locally and exhibited internationally to show her award winning Crazy Patchwork techniques. Embellishment and embroidery are the essence of her Crazy Quilts and an opportunity to use up those devine pieces of fabric and trims that you have in your stash. Cost $60


Lessons from Ramallah – with Jenny Bowker commencing Thursday 12 August in the evenings 6.00pm to 8.30- Working with colour and basic designs are the key features of this workshop. Basic skills required only as Jenny will introduce you to colour combinations that you have never considered before as well as simplifying cutting techniques. She will show you how to make your calculations to create your own unique quilt. Cost $180 for 6 evening sessions.

International tutor Sue Spargo will return 14 and 15 August for a two day workshop on hand stitching and embellishment. This talented tutor works with an exciting colour palette and folk art designs to produce her wonderful quilts. Ribbons, beads, stitching and embellishment are a key part of the ingredients that make Sue’s quilts so fantastic. Unique experience with this talented tutor and author. International tutor Becky Goldsmith will be in store Saturday & Sunday 21 and 22 August. Becky is flying in from Texas for a limited series of workshops in Australia. This delightful and very talented tutor will be tutoring in Freewheeling – No Rules No rulers. This promises to be a unique experience with a very talented international tutor and author. Saturday & Sunday 4 & 5 September with Kellie Wulfsohn from Don’t Look Now - Kellie has a great following and her first workshop in Canberra booked out within days. Join us for two days of fun and learn her techniques to make these fresh, new, different and clever designs. A unique project will be offered for this workshop as well as working on one of Kellie’s patterns.
Cost $200 for two days. Be quick her first session booked out in a week.

Saturday and Sunday 18 & 19 September - Images in Appliqué with Jenny Bowker - Canberra has so many award winning quilters. Another very accomplished tutor Jenny will be hosting her Images workshop to show you how to create your unique own quilt from a photograph or picture. Cost $120 for both days.

Saturday 16 October with Wendy Saclier – This traditional technique for piecing blocks ensures accuracy and precision in your quiltmaking. This technique is ideal for unusual or interesting shaped piecing and is a favourite technique of Wendy’s. Cost $60
