Thank you for all of those enthusiastic stitchers who have decided to participate in our Beautiful Stuff (BS) projects. Don’t forget to send us a pic of your finished bags – we would love to see them.

Our next project is a simple yet effective table or bed runner made in stunning blues from our Kaffe Fassett collection.

A beautiful runner suitable for a table or a bed. Make your half hexagon template plastic shape and your off and running. Simple machine quilting anchors the three layers together for a stunning effect. The hexi runner is 40cm by 168 cm complete.  Buy on line or in store.

After many requests from our lovely customers we have decided to launch a  monthly project to help you with your skills and to give you an enjoyable work to complete.  Every project will be different and provide an opportunity to experience new skills and explore different techniques, or perhaps just a chance to brush up skills you have already acquired.

Every month we will release a new BS project. They will all be different but not difficult.  All projects come in kit form and include fabrics and patterns.  Our staff experts have chosen and tested the components so you will find the experience a pleasure.

First up is this Rosie Bag.  Experience good quality bag hardware, specialised bag batting and selected fabrics from our range.

Buy online or in the store.  The online price of $41.45 includes postage and handling.

A Message of Hope for Christmas

Addicted To Fabric - Friday, December 23, 2016

Just arrived from Rwanda are these vivid cotton prints from a brave and entrepreneurial young woman who has started a small textiles export business.  Claire Mbabazi is a survivor of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide, which claimed the life of both her father and her brother.  An immensely proud Rwandan, Claire - with help from a local Canberra family - is excited to be showcasing the talents of her country.  We have gladly purchased a range to help her get started.  Claire's story and these fabrics are sure to brighten your Christmas!

Christmas Approaches

Addicted To Fabric - Friday, December 16, 2016

There has been a flurry of activity around the shop in the lead up to Christmas.  The final handover for the year of quilts for QE II took place last Thursday - along with lots of home made morning tea.  Our Thursday ladies do a wonderful job making all these quilts.  Judy has finished her magnificent wool applique quit ( middle right) - ready for the quilting machine and Virginia is rightly chuffed with her finished quilt (bottom right) she started in our Kaffe Fassett class earlier this year.  Congratulations to both Judy and Virginia on these beautiful pieces
